I met Josephine through a fantastic wedding planner – Bernadette Chapman from Dream Occasions.

From the first meeting Josephine was keen to keep the style of the flowers elegant but understated. I designed a simple handtied bouquet for her to match the colour of her dress which was an unusual and really beautiful taupe colour. The wedding planner and I were always concerned that the marquee would need lots of decoration which was not Josephine’s style. After lots of discussions and samples we persuaded Josephine to use tall arrangements on the tables and on the day Josephine could not have been more pleased. We kept the table arrangements quite simple although tall and extremely elegant and only used tall glasses on half of the tables. The marquee was huge so the use of tall and low arrangements kept the look simple and elegant but visually filled the marquee.

Seated at the top table was just Josephine Gordon and Josephine’s grandchildren. Josephine was keen to have a gift for the children made with flowers that was completely unusual. We came up with the idea of using shoes decorated with ribbons pearls and flowers for the girls and football boots filled with hydrangea for the boys – they were a fabulous addition to the top table decorations.
